Why Aurelian?
Aurelian takes its name from aureus (the Latin word meaning “golden"), and from ideas of endurance, stewardship, and continuity. It speaks to how we work and to what we advise on.
Art and luxury assets sit at the intersection of law, culture, capital and legacy. They accumulate meaning over time. They demand judgment, not just answers. Aurelian Lawyers & Advisers reflects a practice built around those long horizons. We advise on what endures, not just what transacts.
As our work has evolved, so too has the way we describe it. Aurelian better captures who we are today and the direction we are taking.
What’s changing?
This marks the evolution of Guest Work Agency into Aurelian Lawyers & Advisers.
Our work itself remains consistent — specialist legal and strategic advice across art, cultural property and luxury assets — but the name now more clearly reflects the scope, maturity, and international orientation of the practice.
From here, all legal and advisory work will be undertaken under the Aurelian name.
Why now?
Guest Work Agency was founded to do something deliberately different: to bring legal rigour to how people collect, commission and steward art.
Over time, the work deepened. What began as a specialist legal practice expanded into advising on complex, cross-border decisions involving art, cultural property, luxury assets, commissions, governance and legacy.
As the art and luxury landscape has become more regulated, clients have increasingly sought not just legal answers, but context, perspective and foresight.
Aurelian Lawyers & Advisers reflects that evolution. It signals a practice that operates across jurisdictions and disciplines, combining legal expertise with strategic and cultural insight. It also brings clarity to what the firm has long been committed to: advising on art and luxury with independence, discretion, and long-term perspective.
