Aurelian Advises on the Launch of SPAZIO DI STASIO: A New Melbourne Cultural Platform

A new art and culture platform launches in Melbourne this week— and behind every major artwork are the creators, visionaries, designers, restauranteurs and lawyers that make it possible.
SPAZIO DI STASIO officially opens during Melbourne Art Fair, introducing a new patronage concept dedicated to ambitious cross-disciplinary cultural projects spanning art, architecture, and hospitality. Conceived by restaurateur and art patron Rinaldo Di Stasio, the platform seeks to foster a new model of collaboration between artists, patrons, and creative institutions.
Its inaugural project is Spazio Tarocchi, a site-specific moving-image commission by Australian artist Shaun Gladwell, presented at Di Stasio Città. Developed through extensive work across Italy and Australia, the immersive installation reflects a shared commitment to experimentation, art, and long-term creative dialogue.
At the heart of the initiative is an alternative patronage model, one grounded in trust, sustained collaboration, and cultural investment across disciplines in art, culture, architecture, and design.
As Rinaldo Di Stasio puts it: “CULTURE NOT FEAR”

Supporting Cultural Projects Behind the Scenes
We are working behind the scenes with the Di Stasio collegamento on strategic direction, where the new artwork and platform aim to push an alternative patronage model, which operates beyond the traditional gallery or museum concept as we know it.
Projects of this scale and ambition require thoughtful strategy from commissioning and contractual arrangements to governance and long-term cultural strategy. We answer questions like:
who owns the artwork (and its components)?
how many iterations can be made?
are there any risk and liability arrangements?
what are the display and use rights?
what happens after the exhibition ends?
Our involvement in art projects like this reflects our ongoing commitment to the art and luxury industries.
SPAZIO DI STASIO represents a compelling case study of how hospitality, architecture, and contemporary art can intersect to create new conversations in Melbourne and beyond.
